Pat Davidson

Artist, Teacher, Mentor

Pat is an artist, teacher and mentor with over 40 years of experience. She loves making art, and helping others to connect to their creativity.

Pat is a Lake Macquarie based artist who graduated from Newcastle Art School in 1973 and continues to regularly exhibit her work in Newcastle and beyond. She has taught a variety of creative and visual art subjects in a wide range of settings. In 2000, Pat completed a Masters Degree with distinction from Charles Sturt University and has a Certificate of Art Therapy. Among many industry accolades, Pat is featured in Noris Ioannou’s acclaimed book “Masters of their Craft” (published 1997).

Pat has a particular interest in textiles. In her art, she draws on traditional and postmodern practices where she uses a wide range of fibre, printing and dyeing techniques, often incorporating native Australian plants from her garden. She has a fascination for the role of cloth and sewing in women's lives and Pat’s art often provides commentary on political and historical issues of social justice
